Keeping Warm

To prepare for the upcoming colder cold spell, I've been filling the coop with straw.  Straw adds a little insulation to their outdoor area and helps keep the birds warm.  In addition, they spend a lot of time scratching around in the straw looking for the treats I've scattered about.  This exercise keeps their bodies warm too.

Notice the frost and ice on the Red Door.

Next one is the additional shelter I created over the weekend.

Snow vane

The weather vane has been covered in snow and ice since Friday.

Welcome, February

Here it is another snowy morning.  I've shoveled paths to the coop, the driveway, the sidewalk, and the front step.  I'm worn out.
