Yogurt for Chickens

We all know that yogurt is one of the key ingredients to a healthy digestive system and that fact is no different for chickens.  However, once a week is plenty for the birds.  Today, the chickens of Red Door Coop got their first taste of the creamy goodness.  At first they didn't quite know what to think, but then they dug right in.
Look carefully at their beaks.  Now I know who to cross-examine if the yogurt in our fridge ever goes missing!  Interestingly, the chickens did not care for having yogurt on their beaks and tried to get it off by rubbing their beaks in the gravel or a second and less effective method: scratching it with their toes.  OUCH!
A few minutes later, while scooping out the coop, I saw this.  The young birds are still pecking away at the yogurt while the older birds are giving the yogurt a little "been there, done that."
