Snow Storm Frenzy

Mama Hen departed California in a snow storm frenzy.  Snow was coming to Colorado, all flights will be cancelled, and you'll be stranded they said, so get home while you can.  Mama Hen followed the masses back to Denver on turbulent flights through Santa Ana winds, rainy skies, and crowded airports.  A late night drive home pelted her little car with rain turned to coaster size snow flakes.

Mama Hen was happy to be home because she missed Papa Hen and the Red Door Coop Hens.  All was well at our little homestead.  Papa Hen's new fence looks pretty in the snow.

The bird feeder has provided constant entertainment for the local squirrels.  We are hoping that our puppy's arrival might coincide with the departure of the squirrels.
The chickens were toasty warm in their draft-free coop, happy to take care of chicken business in the straw.

Tulips get the short end of the stick every year.  They always start to bloom and are then squashed in the spring snow.  Hopefully, they will survive and show off their colors in a front yard parade.

And there is our old friend and protector, the Gnome.

Ugh! So sorry for you folks :( We are finally getting a taste of spring here in central NY. All in all, it was an easy winter snow-wise, but we had one night that dropped to twenty nine degrees below zero! The coldest ever for me! Hope your late snow melts quickly!
