Recent Days...

Weezy laying an egg.

The green and white plastic flaps play a little trick on the chickens.  Somehow the flaps help to hide the nesting boxes so the hens don't spend multiple hours a day lazing around inside of them.  Instead, it seems as though a teeny-tiny light bulb blinks on, tells the hen it is egg laying time, they do their jobs and then go back into the chicken run.  When the boxes were open all the time, we had a lot of lazing around.

Bill is molting, not that you can tell from this picture.  She just looks like a gorgeous senior citizen hen.  However, her belly is getting a bit bare and we seem to be picking up about a hundred black and green feathers a day.

The hens squabble over their seeds.
