Welcome to 2017

The six chickens of Red Door Coop are doing well.  They are looking healthy, getting along, and have mostly quit molting.  Except for David.  Over the holidays, Weezy finished molting and is looking gorgeous again.  David started molting.

Jim is still supervising all chicken chores.  BB ignores us as she struts her stuff around the coop.  Brian just eats and eats and eats.  Murphy is skittish.  Weezy is even more skittish.  David is busy trying to get the "in" with Jim and Murphy.

It is rare to get all six hens in one shot, but I was lucky this morning.  They all decided to gobble up their scratch together after Papa Hen and I cleaned the coop.

Something essential to good chicken care: fresh water.  In the winter we fill old vinegar bottles at the sink in our laundry room and carry them out to the birds daily.  In the summer we use the hose.
